To all lovely MATEIN Customers, as many of you have asked about how to use the USB port built in the backpack, we have prepared a specific guide of using the USB port for your reference, we hope this will help you better access to this handy feature.
*Please kindly note that MATEIN backpack does not include a power bank.
1. Prepare your power bank. (Please do notice that you are not able to charge your phone without connecting to a power bank. The MATEIN backpacks do not include the power bank, you need to buy a power bank separately.)

2. Place it into one of the inside mesh pockets and connect it to the built-in USB cable. Take a quick access to the video guide on how to use USB port.

3. Connect to the outside USB port and start charging your phone.

4. Stay fresh with MATEIN while on the go.
Since the USB plug of the backpack is facing down and the backpack is water resistance, you don’t have to worry about getting the backpack and USB plugs wet.

Question: Why can't the mobile phone be charged?
Some customers have reported that their mobile phones cannot be charged when using our USB charging backpacks. We’ve summarized a few common reasons and suggestions for your reference:
1) The USB charging head or data cable may be damaged.
This often happens when low-quality or unbranded accessories are used. We strongly recommend using branded products, such as Matein or other reliable brands that offer USB charging waterproof backpacks. These brands typically conduct strict quality inspections and offer better quality assurance.
There are two main issues with inferior cables or connectors:
-
Poor contact design: The metal contacts in the cable or USB port may be too thin. Over time, repeated use can cause wear, leading to poor contact or complete failure to charge.
-
Non-standard sizing: If the USB connector does not conform to standard dimensions, it may not fit properly, preventing proper contact and charging.
👉 Recommendation: Always choose backpacks and data cables from reputable brands.
2) The internal constant-current circuit of the power bank may be damaged.
This is a less common issue, typically caused by overheating, which can burn out the main charging chip.
3) The connection between the charging cable and power bank may be loose or the cable may be damaged.
If the mobile phone charging cable or its interface is of poor quality, it can cause unstable or failed charging.
Waterproof backpacks with USB charging ports are especially useful during rainy days. You can charge your phone while keeping it dry and still answer calls without hassle—something regular (non-waterproof) backpacks can’t offer.
Whether you're commuting or traveling, our waterproof USB charging backpacks for men and women are designed to be your reliable companion.
