At MATEIN, we believe education opens doors to brighter futures — and every child deserves to start the school year with confidence and the right tools. This August, we proudly partnered with Cholla Academy Westland School Brighton in Glendale, Arizona, to support their annual Back-to-School Bash, a community event that helps local families prepare for the new school year.
As part of this initiative, MATEIN donated 30 backpacks to the school’s 5th-grade students, ensuring every child began the year with a brand-new, durable backpack ready for learning. The smiles on their faces said it all — each backpack represented more than a school supply; it symbolized encouragement, opportunity, and care.
Empowering a School with a Mission
Cholla Academy Westland School is a small, family-founded public charter school with a 37-year history of serving a historically marginalized community. All students qualify for the National School Lunch Program, and nearly half receive special education services, a reflection of the school’s commitment to inclusion and support for diverse learners.
Through their Back-to-School Bash, families receive not just supplies, but also access to community organizations offering free resources in health, wellness, and education — building a sense of belonging and hope for students and parents alike.
